Yalapa's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fermin Dolfo got free with Wilson Amorim in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Basri İhtiyar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viriato Moura in the 18th minute of the match. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Yalapa's goalkeeper Basri İhtiyar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Wilson Amorim made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Igor Stephen sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fermin Dolfo in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wilson Amorim saved Portugal from getting behind. In the 29th minute Viriato Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Basri İhtiyar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amedeo Biscotti in the 30th minute of the match. Felipe Barreto struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Basri İhtiyar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Portugal. Felipe Barreto might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Basri İhtiyar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felipe Barreto ran back to his position shaking his head. Basri İhtiyar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Barreto in the 43rd minute of play. If Fermin Dolfo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabricio Andrade in the 47th minute of play forced Yalapa's goalkeeper Basri İhtiyar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fermin Dolfo to strike the kick off in the second half. After 58 played minutes Portugal got a freekick which was hit by Faustino Almeida. Basri İhtiyar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felipe Barreto in the 60th minute. In the 64th minute Felipe Barreto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Basri İhtiyar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
