Magic is Back's Ruben Sánchez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Honorato Chap in the 15th minute of play. Martin Palermo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ruben Sánchez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Honorato Chap in the 20th minute of the match. After having played for 23 minutes, Martin Palermo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Magic is Back's supporters crossed their fingers, but Martin Palermo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. LA DEL MONO's Fabio Betadur played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martin Palermo in the 26th minute of play. Ruben Sánchez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alonzo Gamus in the 29th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aaron Anselmino in the 34th minute of play forced Magic is Back's goalkeeper Ruben Sánchez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 37th minute Honorato Chap shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruben Sánchez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 47th match minute, Magic is Back was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelo Trobbiani to maneuver through the defense. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when David Bastia made the kick off in the second half. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 52nd minute, but Fabio Betadur got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving LA DEL MONO hanging dry this time. 54 minutes into the match, LA DEL MONO's goalkeeper Fabio Betadur had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Martin Palermo. Fabio Betadur showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martin Palermo, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Ruben Sánchez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Honorato Chap, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Magic is Back's Ruben Sánchez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Honorato Chap in the 57th minute of play. Honorato Chap received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Ruben Sánchez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of LA DEL MONO booed when Magic is Back was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Walter Samuel didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind LA DEL MONO's goalkeeper Fabio Betadur, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Magic is Back made a substitution. Roberto Mouzo replaced Roland Schiavi. Magic is Back's Osvaldo Potente was substituted for Martin Palermo. Rigoberto Cordareo kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Osvaldo Potente in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fabio Betadur saved LA DEL MONO from getting behind. In the 84th minute Aaron Anselmino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruben Sánchez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Osvaldo Potente sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Roberto Rogel kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. LA DEL MONO were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Magic is Back to leave the ground with a draw.
