Wilson Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Iwan Grocholski made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Iwan Grocholski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Barreto in the 42nd minute of play. La Academia's Iwan Grocholski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viriato Moura in the 43rd minute of play. In the 46th minute, Francisco Alberto Zañartu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Iwan Grocholski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe Barreto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

Iwan Grocholski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 85th minute, Francisco Alberto Zañartu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The La Academia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-4. A collision led to La Academia getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Lalo Salamanca hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in La Academia's zone, Felipinho Amorim stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iwan Grocholski came out of the goal and Felipinho Amorim tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, Felipinho Amorim took a quick shot and it went in 3-5 without a chance for Iwan Grocholski to make any attempt to save it. La Academia's Iwan Grocholski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Pimentel in the 94th minute of play. Gong Peng Bo hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Portugal's Felipinho Amorim slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Iwan Grocholski. That made the score 3-6 after 96 minutes of play. The La Academia supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Portugal's performance. The match ended with a win for Portugal.
