After some careless play in the Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. defense, Ramiro Montrell kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Qiu Chuan Ran. The Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Qiu Chuan Ran should have stopped the shot. Generoso Eder kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Menelaos Damianos made in the 29th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Granville's Jaime Oskarbi. Artemio Banegas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s Qiu Chuan Ran proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. from getting a goal against them. In the 38th minute, Ramiro Montrell ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Qiu Chuan Ran was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Granville's Pablo Sanson was substituted for Jaime Oskarbi. The wind increased when Gonzalo Lixandro made the kick off in the second half. Granville's Başar Öztarhan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gonzalo Lixandro in the 54th minute of play. In the 56th minute, Desiderio Tirso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 57 played minutes, Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s Venedikt Ukraintsev shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Başar Öztarhan came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. reached it. Başar Öztarhan made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Raimundo Ventura sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Granville's Başar Öztarhan got control of the ball when Raimundo Ventura tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s goalkeeper Qiu Chuan Ran, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
