When Octav Bute fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC ciufulici's protests and gave Octav Bute a yellow card for diving instead. In the 7th match minute, FC ciufulici was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Petrică Todoran to maneuver through the defense. When Frank Carlucci fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored S.S.C. NAPOLI's protests and gave Frank Carlucci a yellow card for diving instead. After 8 played minutes S.S.C. NAPOLI got a freekick which was hit by Frank Carlucci. After 12 played minutes S.S.C. NAPOLI got a freekick which was hit by Ermanno Scarinci. A collision led to S.S.C. NAPOLI getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Alfonso Tullio hit a great ball. Dumitru Lopatnicu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Carlucci, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 25th minute, Ştefan Nastac hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. S.S.C. NAPOLI's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Sergiu Târcă 32 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Nae Bitănescu kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Dumitru Lopatnicu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arrigo Berardo in the 42nd minute of play. In the 46th minute, Edgar Comarnescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nae Bitănescu was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Sergiu Târcă got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Nae Bitănescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fulvio Patricelli didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gigel Gârleanu went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. A collision led to FC ciufulici getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Eduard Măcrineanu hit a great ball. 67 minutes into the match, S.S.C. NAPOLI's goal looked a bit too open when Gigel Gârleanu came free, but Fulvio Patricelli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 68th minute, Octav Bute hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fulvio Patricelli came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by FC ciufulici's Gigel Gârleanu. But to his dismay, Gigel Gârleanu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. In the 73rd minute of the match Rareș Antonescu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fulvio Patricelli showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Sergiu Târcă hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. In the 75th minute, Attilio Riccardi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nae Bitănescu hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Dumitru Lopatnicu was a little too slow when Frank Carlucci got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 81st minute. The score was now 3-1. Fulvio Patricelli didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gigel Gârleanu went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. FC ciufulici's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
