Aírton de Lima made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Balazs Lajos in the 6th minute of play. After 8 played minutes Hungary got a freekick which was hit by Szekeres Tamas. 10 minutes into the match, Motta Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Balazs Lajos came free, but Aírton de Lima reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 12 minutes had been played when some careless play by Motta Futebol Clube's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Antal Valentin was slow to take the kick. During this time Hungary's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Takacs Tibor heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Takacs Tibor scored 0-1 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aírton de Lima, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 17 played minutes Motta Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Danilo Arantes. An unexpectedly hard shot by Balazs Lajos in the 18th minute of play forced Motta Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Aírton de Lima to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Major Barna scored 0-2 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aírton de Lima, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 25th minute, Antal Valentin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hungary fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Major Barna managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hungary's supporters rose to their feet, but Major Barna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aírton de Lima breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Antal Valentin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Motta Futebol Clube defense, Antal Valentin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aírton de Lima. The Motta Futebol Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aírton de Lima should have stopped the shot. Aírton de Lima took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Major Barna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Hungary booed when Motta Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilmar Garcia didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 43 played minutes, Hungary's Antal Valentin shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Aírton de Lima came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Hungary reached it. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dé Macedo to make the kick off. Antal Valentin struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Aírton de Lima didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hungary. After 59 played minutes Major Barna rounded Motta Futebol Clube's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-6. After a defensive mix-up in Motta Futebol Clube's zone, Takacs Tibor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aírton de Lima came out of the goal and Takacs Tibor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 65 played minutes Hungary got a freekick which was hit by Major Barna. 68 minutes into the game, Danilo Arantes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Motta Futebol Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hungary the free kick. In the 68th match minute, Motta Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Danilo Arantes to maneuver through the defense. 76 minutes into the match, Motta Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Major Barna came free, but Aírton de Lima reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Hungary getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Katona Janos hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Major Barna managed to get in a good position for a shot. Antal Valentin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aírton de Lima read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play.
