Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Erik Ljusberg kicked off to start the match. Edward Vanderstraeten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 6 played minutes Norrlands Athen got a freekick which was hit by Martin Lundin. Belgium's Nigel Devos managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Jacinto da Silveira in the 8 minute of the game. 17 minutes into the match, Belgium's goalkeeper Casper Claes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nicolás Castillo. 24 minutes into the match, Nicolás Castillo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Casper Claes, 1-0. In the 27th match minute, Norrlands Athen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Larry Tatum to maneuver through the defense. After 34 played minutes Norrlands Athen got a freekick which was hit by Martin Lundin. Edward Vanderstraeten's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Manfred Fribäck read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Belgium's zone, Nicolás Castillo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Casper Claes came out of the goal and Nicolás Castillo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Floris Claeys kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Casper Claes made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Larry Tatum sent off a good shot on target. When Edward Vanderstraeten came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Belgium fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edward Vanderstraeten couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edward Vanderstraeten to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Norrlands Athen's goalkeeper Manfred Fribäck had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edward Vanderstraeten. 54 minutes into the match, Norrlands Athen's Nicolás Castillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Casper Claes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 58 minutes into the match, Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Manfred Fribäck narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 59th minute Belgium were awarded a corner. Edward Vanderstraeten went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten to fire away a dangerous shot which Manfred Fribäck despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 62nd play minutes Nicolás Castillo shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Casper Claes and just under the crossbar into goal. Norrlands Athen made a substitution. Gilbert Hermansson replaced Nicolás Castillo. Erik Ljusberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Casper Claes having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edward Vanderstraeten got free with Manfred Fribäck in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 81 minutes into the match, Norrlands Athen's goalkeeper Manfred Fribäck had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edward Vanderstraeten. Casper Claes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gilbert Hermansson's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Erik Ljusberg in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Casper Claes saved Belgium from getting behind. After 94 played minutes Belgium got a freekick which was hit by Floris Claeys. Edward Vanderstraeten's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Manfred Fribäck read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. Many of Belgium's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Belgium may have spent more time on the ball, but Norrlands Athen were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
