In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind As Melfi 1929's goalkeeper Eraldo Bulla, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 22 minutes As Melfi 1929's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Frank Sachs who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Frank Sachs almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but As Melfi 1929's Eraldo Bulla did a great save. In the 23rd match minute, As Melfi 1929 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Domenico Corna to maneuver through the defense. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Filippo Bobbio was the one to do the kick off. Filippo Bobbio took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tommy Kahn. Tommy Kahn dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. The supporters of As Melfi 1929 booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albin Holweck didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filippo Bobbio in the 64th minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Germany's Adrian Dreifuss got a free kick in the 76th minute. In the 78th minute of the match Napoleon Walaszkiewicz shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tommy Kahn showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 86th minute, Adrian Dreifuss hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Germany's Tommy Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stelian Popeangă in the 87th minute of play. When Stelian Popeangă came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the As Melfi 1929 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stelian Popeangă couldn't finish the play. As Melfi 1929's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
