Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Petter Skarkman started the match with the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Protegéerna's zone, Zaccheo Andolina stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ingemar Åberg came out of the goal and Zaccheo Andolina tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 7th minute, Ossi Eloranta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 9 minutes into the match, Protegéerna's goal looked a bit too open when Zaccheo Andolina came free, but Ingemar Åberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ingemar Åberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zaccheo Andolina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Flavio Vittori stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Petter Skarkman's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. A nice corner shot did that Michael Näver got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Flavio Vittori quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Italy's Flavio Vittori played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Petter Skarkman in the 18th minute of play. With 22 minutes on the clock, Sostene Vitulli commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 22 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Italy! An unexpectedly hard shot by Siricio Liotta in the 26th minute of play forced Protegéerna's goalkeeper Ingemar Åberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Italy's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sigfrido Auletta in the 27th minute. Sigfrido Auletta made a great header on Italy's corner, it was just that Protegéerna's Ingemar Åberg managed to reach the ball for a save. Sigfrido Auletta struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Ingemar Åberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Italy. In the 32nd match minute, Protegéerna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michael Näver to maneuver through the defense. Petter Skarkman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Flavio Vittori made a huge save. Flavio Vittori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Petter Skarkman in the 40th minute of play. 48 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Guido Python came free, but Flavio Vittori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

After 51 minutes, Sigfrido Auletta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Italy and the Protegéerna players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Italy's Sigfrido Auletta got a free kick in the 51st minute. Flavio Vittori came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Protegéerna's Petter Skarkman. But to his dismay, Petter Skarkman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Italy's Flavio Vittori played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Petter Skarkman in the 61st minute of play. 70 minutes into the match, Petter Skarkman had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Flavio Vittori. Italy's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Petter Skarkman was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Protegéerna's Bo Låsberg was substituted for Fernando Arango. Ingemar Åberg made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Sigfrido Auletta sent off a good shot on target. Italy made a substitution. Sansone Vanella replaced Gianpaolo Mascari. Italy's Adriano Curto was substituted for Zaccheo Andolina. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christer Nyberg in the 87th minute of play forced Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Italy's Flavio Vittori played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Petter Skarkman in the 88th minute of play. In the 92nd minute Italy were awarded a corner. Siricio Liotta went to the cornerflag to take it.
