Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Protegéerna's Petter Skarkman started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Zaccheo Andolina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 10 minutes into the match, Italy's Zaccheo Andolina sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ingemar Åberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 18th minute, Ulrik Söderlund hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Petter Skarkman took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Flavio Vittori. Flavio Vittori dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Flavio Vittori took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Petter Skarkman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ingemar Åberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Porziano Marchitelli in the 29th minute of play. Ingemar Åberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Porziano Marchitelli in the 33rd minute of the match. With a little luck, Italy's Flavio Vittori got control of the ball when Petter Skarkman tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Italy booed when Protegéerna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paolo-César Maldini didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ingemar Åberg came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Italy's Zaccheo Andolina. But to his dismay, Zaccheo Andolina quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Ingemar Åberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. After some careless play in the Italy defense, Petter Skarkman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Flavio Vittori. The Italy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Flavio Vittori should have stopped the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Italy's attentive Siricio Liotta managed to snatch the ball when Xu Yi Chong made a throw-in in the 50th minute of the game. Protegéerna's Ingemar Åberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Protegéerna from getting a goal against them. Ingemar Åberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 62nd minute. Protegéerna made a substitution. Jonny Ånger replaced Yasen Súlov. Xu Yi Chong made in the 66th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Petter Skarkman. Flavio Vittori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Petter Skarkman in the 67th minute of play. Protegéerna's Bo Låsberg was substituted for Fernando Arango. The supporters of Italy booed when Protegéerna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michael Näver didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Petter Skarkman in the 73rd minute of play forced Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Italy's Porziano Marchitelli got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ingemar Åberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zaccheo Andolina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Siricio Liotta came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Italy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Siricio Liotta couldn't finish the play. Italy's Sansone Vanella was substituted for Gianpaolo Mascari. When Protegéerna's Petter Skarkman in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Italy's goalie prevented a goal. Ingemar Åberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adriano Curto in the 94th minute of play.
