Joxa mé trasan's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wim Wilmes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 25th minute of play forced Joxa mé trasan's goalkeeper Ronnie Hellström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes had been played when some careless play by Joxa mé trasan's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. Wim Wilmes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ronnie Hellström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 40th minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gijsbert ter Kruimer to make the kick off. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Carlos Neto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 51 minutes into the match, João Carlos Neto notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Netherlands's Arnout Reekers. Arnout Reekers was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Carlos Neto in the 57th minute of the match. Hamílton Secco kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. If Gustaaf Groeneveldt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 64th minute of the match Netherlands got a corner. Joxa mé trasan's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran over to the corner to take the kick. Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ronnie Hellström in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Gustaaf Groeneveldt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 69th minute of play forced Joxa mé trasan's goalkeeper Ronnie Hellström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ronnie Hellström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 71st minute, Joxa mé trasan's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 75th minute, Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-3. Ronnie Hellström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lars Meesters received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Ronnie Hellström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 88 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Wim Wilmes. Netherlands were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Joxa mé trasan to leave the ground with a draw.
