Maxime Durand made an important save on a dangerous shot by Beto Hermes in the 41st minute. 44 minutes into the match, Chiquinho Mattos sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Maxime Durand threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Chiquinho Mattos this time. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Giovanni Bueno was the one to do the kick off. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Celtic FC were victorious despite being under pressure from France for much of the match.
