In the 2nd minute Frank Sachs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvar Öberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 4 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Adrian Dreifuss sped through Club Atletico Rio Tercero's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Alvar Öberg. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cipriano Joachim in the 7th minute of play. After 11 played minutes Club Atletico Rio Tercero got a freekick which was hit by Donato Reyes. Adrian Dreifuss kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Germany's Tommy Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacobo Mark in the 19th minute of play. Germany's defense didn't have a chance, in the 22nd minute, when Hector Arnas scored to the left of an out of position Tommy Kahn, making the score, 1-1. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Frank Sachs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Chris Mergenthaler hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. After 38 played minutes Club Atletico Rio Tercero got a freekick which was hit by Donato Reyes. After 39 played minutes Club Atletico Rio Tercero got a freekick which was hit by Marcelo Eladio. After 43 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Frank Sachs. If Alejandro Jerrald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th minute, Alejandro Jerrald hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Frank Sachs was the one to do the kick off. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hector Arnas in the 53rd minute of play. When Club Atletico Rio Tercero's Hector Arnas in 54 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Tommy Kahn guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. In the 72nd minute Jacobo Mark shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Germany's Adrian Dreifuss got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Hector Arnas struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Tommy Kahn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Atletico Rio Tercero. Cipriano Joachim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Despite being the better team, Club Atletico Rio Tercero failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
