After 3 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Sven Krakouer. Leon Imberechts sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Germany's Malte Schiele got a free kick in the 5th minute. Murray Hägert could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Tommy Kahn made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Royal Antwerp F.C.'s Roel de Pelsmaker got a free kick in the 14th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Germany's goalie and right to Leon Imberechts. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Germany's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Jacq De Weijngaerden hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. In the 32nd match minute, Royal Antwerp F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leon Imberechts to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Germany's zone, Atak Zor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tommy Kahn came out of the goal and Atak Zor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 36th match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sven Krakouer to maneuver through the defense. Tommy Kahn made an important save on a dangerous shot by Murray Hägert in the 42nd minute. If Frank Sachs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Reinard Van Ghele made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Sachs in the 44th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Murray Hägert to make the kick off. In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Adrian Dreifuss hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Murray Hägert struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Tommy Kahn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Royal Antwerp F.C.. Germany's Tommy Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Murray Hägert in the 61st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Murray Hägert in the 69th minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Malte Schiele hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. In the 73rdth minute of the game Leon Imberechts who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Germany's Tommy Kahn was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Malte Schiele thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Tommy Kahn, a very annoying self made goal in the 75th minute which led to 1-0. Murray Hägert charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Murray Hägert the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Murray Hägert in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tommy Kahn saved Germany from getting behind. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leon Imberechts, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. The supporters of Royal Antwerp F.C. booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrian Dreifuss didn't get a good kick on the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Geert-Jan Omblet in the 92nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Germany's Janik Vogt. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Murray Hägert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Royal Antwerp F.C.'s supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
