Tommy Kahn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maksimir. A collision led to Maksimir getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Marin Kuharić hit a great ball. 8 minutes into the match, Danijel Petrlin dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tommy Kahn, 1-0. 11 minutes into the game, Willy Stieler threw the ball into play from the sideline. Maksimir's Frano Letina quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Danijel Petrlin might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tommy Kahn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Danijel Petrlin ran back to his position shaking his head. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Danijel Petrlin, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. After a rather tough play, Germany's Willy Stieler got a free kick in the 13th minute. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Adam Dodaj was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. The crowd rose to their feet as Maksimir's Danijel Petrlin slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tommy Kahn. That made the score 2-0 after 18 minutes of play. Frank Sachs struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Boleslaw Jaktorowo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Germany. 24 minutes into the match, Maksimir's Danijel Petrlin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tommy Kahn narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Frank Sachs came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Germany fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frank Sachs couldn't finish the play. Tommy Kahn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Danijel Petrlin in the 34th minute of the match. Willy Stieler kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Danijel Petrlin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommy Kahn having to interfere. After 44 played minutes, Maksimir's Adam Dodaj shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tommy Kahn came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Maksimir reached it. Boleslaw Jaktorowo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Albin Holweck in the 45th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Frank Sachs stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Danijel Petrlin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Danijel Petrlin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maksimir's supporters rose to their feet, but Danijel Petrlin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tommy Kahn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Albin Holweck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Danijel Petrlin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Danijel Petrlin in the 61st minute of play. Tommy Kahn didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Maksimir's Danijel Petrlin shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 3-0 in the ordered_time% minute. Maksimir made a substitution. Maksim Delić replaced Marin Kuharić. Danijel Petrlin took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tommy Kahn. Tommy Kahn dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. The supporters of Germany booed when Maksimir was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maksim Delić didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 80 minutes, Mateo Kukoč mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Maksimir and the Germany players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 80th minute, Mateo Kukoč hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Danijel Petrlin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Danijel Petrlin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tommy Kahn stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Antonio Hrste's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. The Maksimir fans' excitement grew in the 90th match minute when Maksimir's Antonio Hrste looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Danijel Petrlin in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tommy Kahn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Maksimir were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Germany for a fine match.
