R.B Leipzig's Ian Grande played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 7th minute of play. Gust Ennemans got a throw-in 9 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Gustaaf Groeneveldt. Ian Grande showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Wilmes in the 19th minute of the match. Ian Grande showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Arnout Reekers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aloisio Munet in the 23rd minute. In the 29th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer made a precise shot to the right of Ian Grande. R.B Leipzig's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. If Aloisio Munet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Netherlands's defense didn't have a chance, in the 35th minute, when Aloisio Munet scored to the left of an out of position Arnout Reekers, making the score, 1-1. Ian Grande showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. 42 minutes into the match, R.B Leipzig's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Ian Grande reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ian Grande made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 43rd minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Aloisio Munet made the kick off in the second half. Gust Ennemans made in the 52nd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Gustaaf Groeneveldt however managed to control. 54 minutes into the match, R.B Leipzig's goalkeeper Ian Grande had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by David Eikelkamp. Gustaaf Groeneveldt scored 1-2 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ian Grande, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 59th match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Egbert Nijveldt to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 61st minute of play forced R.B Leipzig's goalkeeper Ian Grande to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Netherlands booed when R.B Leipzig was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aloisio Munet didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ilkay Gündoğan kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Ian Grande took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Egbert Nijveldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Egbert Nijveldt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Ian Grande tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 75th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ian Grande saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 75th minute of play forced R.B Leipzig's goalkeeper Ian Grande to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Netherlands's Wim Wilmes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ian Grande. That made the score 1-3 after 84 minutes of play. When the final whistle sounded Netherlands left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than R.B Leipzig.
