AC Milan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bo Carlsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 33rd minute Gustave Parisse shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Michael Åhman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Labbeville made a substitution. Donatien Seris replaced Patxi Malouda. Sébastian Wendling's late challenge caught a AC Milan's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sébastian Wendling helped the player get up and apologised. In the 87th match minute, Labbeville was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Djibril Roman to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sven-Olof Bryngelsson got free with Gaël Anthoine in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
