La Scaloneta's supporters rose to their feet, but Ángel-Fabián Di María was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Robustiano Cordarrel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Robustiano Cordarrel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lionel Messi in the 35th minute of play. Robustiano Cordarrel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ramon Lizardi's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. In the 38th minute Lionel Messi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robustiano Cordarrel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The wind increased when Lionel Messi made the kick off in the second half. Diego Munio kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. But to his dismay, Lion Messi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Rigoberto Cuarto kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, La Scaloneta's Rigoberto Cuarto got a free kick in the 68th minute. Albano Bemabe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aaron Rosio, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. After some careless play in the Fortinducto defense, Lionel Messi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Robustiano Cordarrel. The Fortinducto fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Robustiano Cordarrel should have stopped the shot. 74 minutes into the game, Arnoldo Pirro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fortinducto's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave La Scaloneta the free kick.
