The supporters of ATLETICO MENDOZA booed when Martin Palermo F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nestor Lertxun didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 12th match minute, Martin Palermo F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flavio Lope to maneuver through the defense. Flavio Lope fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Serafin Ralondo having to interfere. In the 18th match minute, Martin Palermo F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flavio Lope to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudio Eudoxio in the 22nd minute of play forced Martin Palermo F.C.'s goalkeeper Marcial Clemencin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcial Clemencin came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by ATLETICO MENDOZA's Claudio Eudoxio. But to his dismay, Claudio Eudoxio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 30 minutes, Claudio Eudoxio made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Martin Palermo F.C.'s Marcial Clemencin tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adolfo Garaile during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, ATLETICO MENDOZA's Adolfo Garaile got a free kick in the 33rd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Martin Palermo F.C.'s Mauro Efren slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Serafin Ralondo. That made the score 1-2 after 36 minutes of play. Flavio Brion fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Serafin Ralondo having to interfere. Serafin Ralondo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flavio Lope, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Claudio Eudoxio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, ATLETICO MENDOZA's goal looked a bit too open when Nestor Lertxun came free, but Serafin Ralondo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Flavio Brion received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Serafin Ralondo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Flavio Lope managed to get in a good position for a shot. Martin Palermo F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Flavio Lope was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Serafin Ralondo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Claudio Eudoxio's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Marcial Clemencin firmly grabbed it by the left post. Serafin Ralondo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nestor Lertxun went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Flavio Lope received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Serafin Ralondo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Martin Palermo F.C. were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing ATLETICO MENDOZA to leave the ground with a draw.
