Frank Pagliuca could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Lionel Paly made a huge save. Drąsutis Gailius didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tory Pryor went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. With a little luck, FC Wil 1900's Lionel Paly got control of the ball when Abel Chenard tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lionel Paly took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Pagliuca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 39th minute of the game Friedrich Nietzsche made a throw-in which Georges Gladu played forward. A throw-in in the 41st minute of the game was made by Georges Gladu with Pirmin Jäggi as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Lionel Paly made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaromír Čížek in the 44th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 52nd minute Tory Pryor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Drąsutis Gailius saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lionel Paly showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abel Chenard in the 53rd minute of the match. Drąsutis Gailius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Téo Rosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Téo Rosa scored 2-3 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Drąsutis Gailius, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A sloppy throw-in by Friedrich Nietzsche in the 58th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Bagni's Arrigo Melone. Lionel Paly took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaromír Čížek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bagni's Drąsutis Gailius played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tory Pryor in the 63rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Pagliuca in the 67th minute of play forced FC Wil 1900's goalkeeper Lionel Paly to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Pirmin Jäggi could shoot a difficult shot in the 69th minute, which Drąsutis Gailius however easily saved by the left post. The supporters of FC Wil 1900 booed when Bagni was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank Pagliuca didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bagni's Arturo Nardone was substituted for Beppe Mansueto. Bagni made a substitution. Camillo Genovese replaced Jaromír Čížek. In the 71st match minute, Bagni was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frank Pagliuca to maneuver through the defense. If Camillo Genovese had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 75 minutes into the match, FC Wil 1900's goal looked a bit too open when Camillo Genovese came free, but Lionel Paly reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 77 played minutes FC Wil 1900 got a freekick which was hit by Friedrich Nietzsche. Pirmin Jäggi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Drąsutis Gailius made a huge save. Arturo Nardone's late challenge caught a FC Wil 1900's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arturo Nardone helped the player get up and apologised. In the 85th match minute, Bagni was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arturo Nardone to maneuver through the defense. Drąsutis Gailius made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pirmin Jäggi in the 86th minute. Drąsutis Gailius stood somewhat misplaced when Tory Pryor came free in front of goal and shot 2-4 to the left of him in the 86 minute. Drąsutis Gailius showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tory Pryor in the 90th minute of the match. Amos Saraceni hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. The Bagni supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching FC Wil 1900's performance. The match ended with a win for FC Wil 1900.
