Wander Suzanne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 2nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hias Nüssli having to interfere. Wander Suzanne's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hias Nüssli read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 4th minute of play. Hias Nüssli was a little too slow when Wander Suzanne got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 4th minute. The score was now 1-0. After 10 minutes, Timo Siegmund mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Switzerland and the Charlotte FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Timo Siegmund kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Björn Magnusson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 13 minutes into the match, Björn Magnusson notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Switzerland's Hias Nüssli. Hias Nüssli was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Wander Suzanne's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hias Nüssli read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. When Charlotte FC's Björn Magnusson in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Switzerland's goalie prevented a goal. After 32nd play minutes Wander Suzanne shot 3-0, a short shot which went by Hias Nüssli and just under the crossbar into goal. Jacinto Maurer kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Hias Nüssli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Björn Magnusson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wander Suzanne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Björn Magnusson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Wander Suzanne came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Charlotte FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wander Suzanne couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Charlotte FC getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Antoine Hankins hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Björn Magnusson in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hias Nüssli saved Switzerland from getting behind. In the 62nd minute Wander Suzanne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hias Nüssli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 63 minutes into the match, Wander Suzanne notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Switzerland's Hias Nüssli. Hias Nüssli was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Kareem Stoddard hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. In the 77th minute Björn Magnusson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hias Nüssli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Björn Magnusson in the 78th minute of play forced Switzerland's goalkeeper Hias Nüssli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Charlotte FC's Björn Magnusson in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Switzerland's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of Switzerland booed when Charlotte FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. With a left leg Hias Nüssli saved Switzerland from getting behind. Charlotte FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Switzerland for a fine match.
