Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 15th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ahmet Vefik Safa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17th minute Netherlands were awarded a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer went to the cornerflag to take it. Ahmet Vefik Safa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 23rd minute of play. In the 25th minute of the match, Ahmet Ozan Demiray tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Arnout Reekers saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jemmett Borserio in the 26th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The wind increased when Timur Sarphan made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Doğanyurt FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Timur Sarphan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Gijsbert ter Kruimer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ahmet Vefik Safa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wim Wilmes got free with Ahmet Vefik Safa in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Wim Wilmes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ahmet Vefik Safa having to make a save. 63 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Timur Sarphan came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 64th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ahmet Vefik Safa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 69th minute Netherlands were awarded a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Lars Meesters heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. In the 73rd minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Ahmet Vefik Safa, passed just outside the right post. 76 minutes into the match, Doğanyurt FK's goalkeeper Ahmet Vefik Safa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by David Eikelkamp. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ahmet Ozan Demiray in the 78th minute of play. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jemmett Borserio in the 79th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jemmett Borserio in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arnout Reekers saved Netherlands from getting behind. With a little luck, Doğanyurt FK's Ahmet Vefik Safa got control of the ball when Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 83rd minute Netherlands were awarded a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 87th minute, Lars Meesters got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 89th minute. Netherlands's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Ahmet Vefik Safa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from David Eikelkamp went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ahmet Ozan Demiray, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Netherlands had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
