A very good chance. 19 minutes into the match, Omurtag Púrvulov had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arnout Reekers. Netherlands's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Omurtag Púrvulov was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Slavey Dochevski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 22nd minute of play. Slavey Dochevski stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lars Meesters's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. In the 31st minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Slavey Dochevski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnout Reekers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Stanislav Búlgarov in the 33rd minute. Slavey Dochevski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Delyan Partinov in the 39th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 47th match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lars Meesters to maneuver through the defense. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gijsbert ter Kruimer to strike the kick off in the second half. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gustaaf Groeneveldt couldn't finish the play. 63 minutes into the match, Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Slavey Dochevski narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Blue avalanche's Slavey Dochevski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 82nd minute of play. In the 83rd minute Omurtag Púrvulov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Delyan Partinov in the 85th minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Blue avalanche fans cheered their team off the field, for while Netherlands had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
