Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gijsbert ter Kruimer started the match with the kick off. Petr Čech made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lars Meesters in the 4th minute of play. Petr Čech came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Netherlands's Wim Wilmes. But to his dismay, Wim Wilmes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Gijsbert ter Kruimer might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Petr Čech. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran back to his position shaking his head. When Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Batalhão do Peçanha's goalie prevented a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Arnaldo Tróia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Batalhão do Peçanha's supporters rose to their feet, but Arnaldo Tróia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arnout Reekers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wim Wilmes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Petr Čech having to interfere. Lars Meesters sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Batalhão do Peçanha booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bas Tuitert didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gijsbert ter Kruimer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 38th match minute, Batalhão do Peçanha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jens-Ola Gunnarsson to maneuver through the defense. Lars Meesters sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Deng Yue Zhen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Arnout Reekers stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arnaldo Tróia's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Petr Čech made a huge save. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnaldo Tróia in the 57th minute of play. Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Petr Čech having to interfere. In the 63rd minute, Zézinho Veloso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Batalhão do Peçanha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christian Peixoto didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer tried to score from far away in the 65th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Petr Čech showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lars Meesters in the 68th minute of the match. When Gustaaf Groeneveldt came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gustaaf Groeneveldt couldn't finish the play. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Epaminondas Baba in the 78th minute of the match. In the 81st minute, Zézinho Veloso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 82 minutes into the match, Batalhão do Peçanha's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Petr Čech reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, Epaminondas Baba notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Netherlands's Arnout Reekers. Arnout Reekers was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Gijsbert ter Kruimer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 90th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petr Čech saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Batalhão do Peçanha were victorious despite being under pressure from Netherlands for much of the match.
