Caricancha's Amado Gamus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 4th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Caricancha's zone, Gijsbert ter Kruimer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amado Gamus came out of the goal and Gijsbert ter Kruimer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 11th minute of play forced Caricancha's goalkeeper Amado Gamus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amado Gamus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 11th minute of play. In the 12th minute of the match Netherlands got a corner. Caricancha's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran over to the corner to take the kick. Gijsbert ter Kruimer took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 43rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Amado Gamus. Caricancha's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The Caricancha players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Arnout Reekers was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got free with Amado Gamus in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 55 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Artaldo came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Amado Gamus made a huge save. In the 59th minute of the match Netherlands got a corner. Caricancha's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran over to the corner to take the kick. Arnout Reekers didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Șerban Hizo went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Caricancha's Zheng Chao Bing was substituted for Teodosio Figueroa. 71 minutes into the match, Gustaaf Groeneveldt had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Amado Gamus. Caricancha's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gustaaf Groeneveldt was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Caricancha made a substitution. Muni Forró replaced Astor Senio. Ulryk Kalemba kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Gijsbert ter Kruimer took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Amado Gamus. Amado Gamus dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. Amado Gamus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Amado Gamus made a huge save. 88 minutes into the game, Caricancha's Muni Forró nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arnout Reekers made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. In the 90th minute of the match, Gijsbert ter Kruimer tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Amado Gamus saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Artaldo in the 95th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
