Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Frank Sachs took the kick off in the first half of the match. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Sven Krakouer hit a great ball. Silver Phoenix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommy Kahn having to interfere. After having played for 8 minutes, Frank Sachs managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Germany's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frank Sachs was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 14 minutes into the match, Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Codruț Macaneață. Malte Schiele hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. When Codruț Macaneață came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Codruț Macaneață couldn't finish the play. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Cristinel Uncheşelu suffered a concussion in the 18th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. 18 minutes into the game, Albin Holweck was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Germany's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca the free kick. 23 minutes into the match, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Sachs came free, but Valer Onișoru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iurie Bănățeanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 29 minutes had been played when some careless play by Germany's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gigi Bobei was slow to take the kick. During this time PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's players had a chance to rest. The corner led PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Gigi Bobei to fire away a dangerous shot which Tommy Kahn despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 35th match minute, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leontin Titulescu to maneuver through the defense. Leontin Titulescu made in the 37th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Gigi Bobei immediately put the ball in play. During the 38th minute of the match Albin Holweck completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Albin Holweck a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a defensive mix-up in PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's zone, Frank Sachs stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valer Onișoru came out of the goal and Frank Sachs tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Valer Onișoru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Sachs in the 45th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Iurie Bănățeanu to make the kick off. After having played for 58 minutes, Frank Sachs managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Germany's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frank Sachs was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Frank Sachs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Germany's Frank Sachs in the 67th minute got a chance for a shot 67th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iurie Bănățeanu in the 74th minute of play. In the 75th match minute, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Codruț Macaneață to maneuver through the defense. In the 79th match minute, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silver Phoenix to maneuver through the defense. Virgil Jupân made in the 83rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Germany's Adrian Dreifuss. 84 minutes into the game, Germany's Frank Sachs nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Valer Onișoru made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Willy Stieler hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match.
