Casper Claes made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Artemio Odol sent off a good shot on target. In the 43rd minute Yves Dervaux shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardo Loren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bernardo Loren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 43rd minute of play. Sacando del Medio's Artemio Odol got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Edward Vanderstraeten made the kick off in the second half. Belgium's Casper Claes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Artemio Odol in the 57th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edward Vanderstraeten got free with Bernardo Loren in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Sacando del Medio fans cheered their team off the field, for while Belgium had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
