The audience thought a goal was coming when Áron Bódog got free with Flavio Vittori in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 6 minutes into the match, ADM Taquaras's goal looked a bit too open when Siricio Liotta came free, but Jeremias Moreno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind ADM Taquaras's goalkeeper Jeremias Moreno, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jeremias Moreno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 16th minute of the match. Flavio Vittori showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enio Aparecido, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 27th minute, Zaccheo Andolina made a precise shot to the right of Jeremias Moreno. ADM Taquaras's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 31st minute Leon Oinaz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Vittori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jeremias Moreno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zaccheo Andolina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jeremias Moreno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 35th minute of the match. 40 minutes into the match, ADM Taquaras's goal looked a bit too open when Zaccheo Andolina came free, but Jeremias Moreno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to ADM Taquaras getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Leon Oinaz hit a great ball. If Áron Bódog had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Áron Bódog was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Zaccheo Andolina managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Italy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zaccheo Andolina was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Italy booed when ADM Taquaras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Áron Bódog didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cido Cabral hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. In the 67th minute, Siricio Liotta ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jeremias Moreno was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. ADM Taquaras made a substitution. Oliver Bierhoff replaced Enio Aparecido. ADM Taquaras's Wágner Leme was substituted for Cido Cabral. Cléber Palmeira hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Jeremias Moreno stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sigfrido Auletta's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. In the 77th minute Zaccheo Andolina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremias Moreno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Italy made a substitution. Adriano Curto replaced Zaccheo Andolina. Eliseo Cutri made in the 81st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by ADM Taquaras's Cléber Palmeira. Oliver Bierhoff took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Flavio Vittori. Flavio Vittori dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Flavio Vittori didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Oliver Bierhoff went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. Italy's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
