Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Guga Souto started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 3rd match minute, Slovakia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oliver Holub to maneuver through the defense. After 7 minutes of play, Slovakia's Metod Mlynar made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Paulo José Fontes was left in no man's land by his defense there! Oliver Holub struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Paulo José Fontes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Slovakia. Metod Mlynar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Paulo José Fontes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 18th minute of the match Goiás Esporte Clube got a corner. Slovakia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Guga Souto ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Goiás Esporte Clube's Guga Souto to fire away a dangerous shot which Henrich Slany despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Paulo José Fontes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Metod Mlynar in the 23rd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Metod Mlynar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Paulo José Fontes was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Guga Souto got free with Henrich Slany in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Zé Pedro da Mata came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Goiás Esporte Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé Pedro da Mata couldn't finish the play. Goiás Esporte Clube's Paulo José Fontes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oliver Holub in the 34th minute of play. A collision led to Slovakia getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Oliver Holub hit a great ball. Henrich Slany made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Guga Souto sent off a good shot on target. Metod Mlynar hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Oliver Holub sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Metod Mlynar to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Metod Mlynar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Slovakia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Metod Mlynar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Henrich Slany showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Pedro da Mata, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. After having played for 56 minutes, Oliver Holub managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Slovakia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oliver Holub was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Oliver Holub came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Slovakia fans jumped to their feet. Eugênio Tróia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Slovakia booed when Goiás Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Pedro da Mata didn't get a good kick on the ball. Metod Mlynar took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Paulo José Fontes. Paulo José Fontes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. The supporters of Goiás Esporte Clube booed when Slovakia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Metod Mlynar didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Metod Mlynar got free with Paulo José Fontes in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Slovakia's Henrich Slany played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guga Souto in the 96th minute of play. The Goiás Esporte Clube fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Slovakia were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
