The crowd rose to their feet as Luisxemburgo FC's Marcelo De Matos slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Zvezdan Nedeljkovic. That made the score 2-0 after 14 minutes of play. The supporters of Serbia booed when Luisxemburgo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eduardo Dos Santos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Custódio Jacinto hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Serbia's Zvezdan Nedeljkovic proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Serbia from getting a goal against them. 26 minutes into the game, Edmundo Jacaré recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Zvezdan Nedeljkovic. Edmundo Jacaré showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. In the 33rd minute Marcelo De Matos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zvezdan Nedeljkovic saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rodrigo Dos Santos didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th minute of the game Rolando Nascimento made a throw-in which Eduardo Dos Santos played forward. In the 41st minute Edmundo Jacaré shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zvezdan Nedeljkovic saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Serbia's Borjan Golubovic got a free kick in the 41st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcelo De Matos got free with Zvezdan Nedeljkovic in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Zivko Cvetkovic hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Custódio Jacinto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zvezdan Nedeljkovic read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

When Borjan Golubovic fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Serbia's protests and gave Borjan Golubovic a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Serbia getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Borjan Golubovic hit a great ball. Edmundo Jacaré received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Serbia's Zvezdan Nedeljkovic played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelo De Matos in the 57th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Serbia's Zivko Cvetkovic got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Marcelo De Matos struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Luisxemburgo FC. In the 86th minute, Custódio Jacinto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Luisxemburgo FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. Borjan Golubovic kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Custódio Jacinto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zvezdan Nedeljkovic having to interfere.
