Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Giovanni Motta started the match with the kick off. 1-0 became the score in the 12th minute when Eriberto dos Santos elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Camille Baume in the 16th minute of play forced Jenipapo SC's goalkeeper Dida Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jenipapo SC's Dida Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Camille Baume in the 17th minute of play. 18 minutes into the game, Roberto Cafuringa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jenipapo SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave France the free kick. In the 18th minute, Roberto Cafuringa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. David Barbier, 19 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Dida Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Camille Baume in the 21st minute of the match. Dida Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Peletier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 30 minutes into the match, France's goal looked a bit too open when Eriberto dos Santos came free, but Maxime Durand reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 35th minute, Robert Chapuis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Camille Baume in the 38th minute of play forced Jenipapo SC's goalkeeper Dida Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 39 minutes into the game, Hortêncio Nogueira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. France's supporters rose to their feet, but Frank Peletier was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dida Taffarel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dida Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Peletier in the 46th minute of play. Jenipapo SC's Dida Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Camille Baume in the 47th minute of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Frank Peletier to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Remy Dupuy in the 54th minute of play forced Jenipapo SC's goalkeeper Dida Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Jenipapo SC getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Hortêncio Nogueira hit a great ball. Robert Chapuis was extremely unlucky when he, in the 68th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Frank Peletier managed to get in a good position for a shot. France's supporters rose to their feet, but Frank Peletier was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dida Taffarel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Frank Peletier came free with the goalkeeper in the 76th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Dida Taffarel could save by the left post. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind France's goalkeeper Maxime Durand, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dida Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Camille Baume, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. 83 minutes into the match, Camille Baume notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Jenipapo SC's Dida Taffarel. Dida Taffarel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Frank Peletier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Dida Taffarel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Remy Dupuy might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dida Taffarel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Remy Dupuy ran back to his position shaking his head. Camille Baume could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Dida Taffarel made a huge save. France were awarded a corner in the 96th minute after Jenipapo SC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. David Barbier took the corner. When the final whistle sounded France left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Jenipapo SC.
