The supporters of Germany booed when Jenipapo SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armando Trevisan didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Frank Sachs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dida Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Sachs in the 16th minute of the match. If Albin Holweck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 24 minutes of play, Germany's Frank Sachs made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dida Taffarel was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Chris Mergenthaler hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Frank Sachs in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dida Taffarel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Frank Sachs's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dida Taffarel was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. 39 minutes into the match, Frank Sachs notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Jenipapo SC's Dida Taffarel. Dida Taffarel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Wilian Paraíba fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jenipapo SC's protests and gave Wilian Paraíba a yellow card for diving instead. In the 42nd match minute, Jenipapo SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilian Paraíba to maneuver through the defense. Eriberto dos Santos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommy Kahn having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Frank Sachs to make the kick off. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, Frank Sachs took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Dida Taffarel to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Sachs in the 58th minute of play forced Jenipapo SC's goalkeeper Dida Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mateus Urbano kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. After having played for 69 minutes, Moisés das Neves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jenipapo SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Moisés das Neves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Frank Sachs recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dida Taffarel made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Frank Sachs sent off a good shot on target. 72 minutes into the game, Frank Sachs recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dida Taffarel. Frank Sachs showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. In the 75thth minute of the game Giovanni Motta who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Germany's Tommy Kahn was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 78 minutes into the match, Albin Holweck dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Dida Taffarel, 0-5. Jenipapo SC's Dida Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albin Holweck in the 82nd minute of play. After having played for 89 minutes, Frank Sachs managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Germany's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frank Sachs was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Germany's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
