Arnout Reekers didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Sporting Clube Patrício's Magno Dias shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-0 in the ordered_time% minute. In the 47th minute, Lars Meesters ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ademar Azevedo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Magno Dias to make the kick off. In the 55th minute, Wim Wilmes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Netherlands fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Magno Dias managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sporting Clube Patrício's supporters rose to their feet, but Magno Dias was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arnout Reekers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sporting Clube Patrício's Tomás Portugal was substituted for Magno Dias. 62 minutes into the match, Tomás Portugal had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arnout Reekers. Netherlands's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomás Portugal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. In the 65th minute, Wim Wilmes made a precise shot to the right of Ademar Azevedo. Sporting Clube Patrício's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. Tomás Portugal might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arnout Reekers. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomás Portugal ran back to his position shaking his head. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomás Portugal in the 72nd minute of play. In the 75th match minute, Sporting Clube Patrício was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rogério Alves to maneuver through the defense. 76 minutes into the match, Sporting Clube Patrício's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Ademar Azevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match was over Netherlands could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Sporting Clube Patrício throughout the match.
