The tension between the Scotland and the Febre Amarela players grew even worse after the yellow card. Robert McNeill hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. Scotland's Alexander Higgins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Danilo Sá in the 4th minute of play. With his leg Alexander Higgins managed to avoid a goal in the 6thth minute, when Febre Amarela's Lenílson Palmeira fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lenílson Palmeira got free with Alexander Higgins in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 17 minutes into the match, Lenílson Palmeira dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Alexander Higgins, 1-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Lenílson Palmeira kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alexander Higgins. That made the score 2-0 in the 21 minute of play. Alexander Higgins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Fernando Massa in the 28th minute of play. Lenílson Palmeira succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-0 in the 30th playminute. Febre Amarela's Lenílson Palmeira was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 39th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fellipe Tavares got free with Alexander Higgins in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 44 minutes into the match, Luís Fernando Massa dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Alexander Higgins, 6-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zac O'Donnell to make the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fabinho Vale in the 51st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alexander Higgins saved Scotland from getting behind. Alexander Higgins stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fellipe Tavares's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. Alexander Higgins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fellipe Tavares in the 61st minute of the match. Alexander Higgins came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Febre Amarela's Fabinho Vale. But to his dismay, Fabinho Vale quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. Scotland's Alexander Higgins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabinho Vale in the 72nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Scotland's Jack MacKinnon got a free kick in the 73rd minute. In the 76th minute Celsinho Paiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexander Higgins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 77 minutes of play, Febre Amarela's Fabinho Vale made it 8-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lenílson Palmeira scored 9-1 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alexander Higgins, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match clock showed 92 minutes, the score became 10-1 when Lenílson Palmeira sped through Scotland's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Alexander Higgins. Scotland's Alexander Higgins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Francisco Passos in the 97th minute of play. Febre Amarela walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
