In the 5th minute Jorge Cachorro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keld Paulsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vicente Eyague showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bertram Svenningsen in the 8th minute of the match. In the 12th match minute, Denmark was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Simon Bendtsen to maneuver through the defense. In the 13th minute, Jorge Cachorro fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Keld Paulsen, passed just outside the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chris Nygaard in the 14th minute of play forced Tigre's goalkeeper Vicente Eyague to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Denmark defense, Adolfo Santio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Keld Paulsen. The Denmark fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Keld Paulsen should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Tigre booed when Denmark was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kenn Skou didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tigre's Vicente Eyague played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chris Nygaard in the 22nd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nico Otamendi got free with Keld Paulsen in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Keld Paulsen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adolfo Santio in the 33rd minute. Karel Van Engelen made in the 39th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Nico Otamendi immediately put the ball in play. 42 minutes into the match, Adolfo Santio notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Denmark's Keld Paulsen. Keld Paulsen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Chris Nygaard took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vicente Eyague. Vicente Eyague dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Chris Nygaard was the one to do the kick off. Sergey Charnikovich hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Vicente Eyague showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bertram Svenningsen in the 56th minute of the match. The supporters of Tigre booed when Denmark was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kenn Skou didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jorge Cachorro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Keld Paulsen having to interfere. Vicente Eyague made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chris Nygaard in the 64th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lars Steen in the 69th minute of play forced Tigre's goalkeeper Vicente Eyague to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 71 minutes Tigre's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Chris Nygaard who took care of the corner kick. Tigre made a substitution. Benedicto Aztore replaced Nico Otamendi. In the 76th match minute, Tigre was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adolfo Santio to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Denmark's Mikkel Wulff got a free kick in the 78th minute. In the 83rd minute Chris Nygaard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vicente Eyague saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adolfo Santio took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Keld Paulsen. Keld Paulsen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. Denmark's Simon Bendtsen quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Leonel Iratzeder, made in the 95th minute of the game. With his leg Vicente Eyague managed to avoid a goal in the 96thth minute, when Denmark's Chris Nygaard fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Keld Paulsen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Osvaldo Geofredo, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. Denmark's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
