New England Minas's Jeremy Nicholas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 4th minute of play. Jeremy Nicholas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 13th minute of play. Edgardo Silva could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Flavio Vittori made a huge save. New England Minas's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Conny Tingberg in the 21st minute. 25 minutes into the match, Zaccheo Andolina notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of New England Minas's Jeremy Nicholas. Jeremy Nicholas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jeremy Nicholas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 27th minute of play. When Sigfrido Auletta came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Italy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sigfrido Auletta couldn't finish the play. Jeremy Nicholas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 46th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

With a little luck, New England Minas's Jeremy Nicholas got control of the ball when Zaccheo Andolina tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 54th minute Italy were awarded a corner. Sigfrido Auletta went to the cornerflag to take it. After a defensive mix-up in Italy's zone, Edgardo Silva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Flavio Vittori came out of the goal and Edgardo Silva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. New England Minas made a substitution. Hipolito Emenon replaced Jörgen Frohm. New England Minas's Tio Lio was substituted for Edgardo Silva. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sigfrido Auletta got free with Jeremy Nicholas in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Flavio Vittori showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tio Lio, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. In the 70th minute, Sigfrido Auletta left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Italy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Flavio Vittori took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oscar Nordmark, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 78 minutes had been played when some careless play by Italy's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Conny Tingberg was slow to take the kick. During this time New England Minas's players had a chance to rest. The supporters of Italy booed when New England Minas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lalo Rosas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Italy made a substitution. Guiscardo Davide replaced Sigfrido Auletta. Italy made a substitution. Adriano Curto replaced Zaccheo Andolina. In the 86th match minute, New England Minas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lalo Rosas to maneuver through the defense. After 89 minutes of play, New England Minas's Tio Lio made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Flavio Vittori was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 92nd minute Adriano Curto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremy Nicholas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adriano Curtos short, quick shot in the 94thth minute got Jeremy Nicholas to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 95th minute, Conny Tingberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
