After a defensive mix-up in Rönnöfors FF's zone, Zaccheo Andolina stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Magne Gunnarsson came out of the goal and Zaccheo Andolina tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rönnöfors FF's goalkeeper Magne Gunnarsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 15th minute Per Tunström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Vittori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Rönnöfors FF getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Edwin Ahlstedt hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 20th minute of play forced Rönnöfors FF's goalkeeper Magne Gunnarsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Per Stenberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rönnöfors FF's supporters rose to their feet, but Per Stenberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Flavio Vittori breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 21 minutes into the match, Rönnöfors FF's Per Stenberg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Flavio Vittori narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 23 minutes into the match, Rönnöfors FF's goal looked a bit too open when Zaccheo Andolina came free, but Magne Gunnarsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th minute Zaccheo Andolina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Magne Gunnarsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, Rönnöfors FF's goal looked a bit too open when Zaccheo Andolina came free, but Magne Gunnarsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Rönnöfors FF's Torsten Åman got a free kick in the 41st minute. Magne Gunnarsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sigfrido Auletta in the 45th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Henry Fagerberg to make the kick off. Rönnöfors FF's Magne Gunnarsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 51st minute of play. Flavio Vittori took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henry Fagerberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 61 minutes into the match, Rönnöfors FF's goalkeeper Magne Gunnarsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zaccheo Andolina. Thanks to some nice moves Porziano Marchitelli could shoot a difficult shot in the 67th minute, which Magne Gunnarsson however easily saved by the left post. Rönnöfors FF made a substitution. Sigvard Biörnberg replaced Olimpiu Mirciulescu. After 71 minutes Italy's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Per Stenberg who took care of the corner kick. Italy's Flavio Vittori played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Per Tunström in the 76th minute of play. Per Tunström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adriano Curto received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Magne Gunnarsson came out and tried to block the shot, but Adriano Curto slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 90th minute. After 94 minutes of play, Rönnöfors FF's Per Tunström made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Flavio Vittori was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Rönnöfors FF supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Italy's performance. The match ended with a win for Italy.
