Kęstutis Raziulis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 6th minute of the match. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Rio Arinos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vítor Dracena didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 11th minute, Duda Sarmento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 11th minute of the match Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kęstutis Raziulis showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Rio Arinos's Kęstutis Raziulis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 13th minute of play. Kęstutis Raziulis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lars Meesters in the 15th minute of play. After having played for 20 minutes, Gijsbert ter Kruimer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gijsbert ter Kruimer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arnout Reekers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vítor Dracena in the 22nd minute. When Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 32nd play minute Rodolfo Paiva came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Arnout Reekers. 1-1. Vítor Dracena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Luiz Valle in the 42nd minute of the match. Wim Wilmes might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kęstutis Raziulis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wim Wilmes ran back to his position shaking his head. Lars Meesters hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gijsbert ter Kruimer to make the kick off. Rio Arinos's Kęstutis Raziulis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lars Meesters in the 53rd minute of play. Coronel Nueva hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Rio Arinos's Pedro Luiz Valle in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Kees Mooiweer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Rio Arinos's Kęstutis Raziulis got control of the ball when Wim Wilmes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Many of Netherlands's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Netherlands may have spent more time on the ball, but Rio Arinos were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
