Edward Vanderstraeten ran back to his position shaking his head. 21 minutes into the match, Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mikolaj Jerzyk narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In a very dangerous position, a player in Newcastle United fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 22nd minute. Penalty! Newcastle United:s Mikolaj Jerzyk showed great skill when he stopped Edward Vanderstraeten:s penalty. 24 minutes had been played when some careless play by Newcastle United's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Despite this Mikolaj Jerzyk quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Laurens Vandamme kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. In the 27thth minute of the game Edward Vanderstraeten who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Newcastle United's Mikolaj Jerzyk was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Edward Vanderstraeten took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Mikolaj Jerzyk to make any attempt to save it. Edward Vanderstraeten could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Mikolaj Jerzyk made a huge save. In the 69th minute, Edward Vanderstraeten left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Belgium fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Edward Vanderstraeten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edward Vanderstraeten got free with Mikolaj Jerzyk in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Belgium were awarded a corner in the 83th minute after Newcastle United's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Edward Vanderstraeten took the corner. The corner led Belgium's Lenny Clocheret to fire away a dangerous shot which Mikolaj Jerzyk despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Thomas Vollmar in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Casper Claes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 87 minutes Belgium's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Zé Paulo Zonta who took care of the corner kick. The corner led to Newcastle United's Benedykt Gdaniec getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Edward Vanderstraeten could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Mikolaj Jerzyk made a huge save. In the 93rd match minute, Belgium was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lenny Clocheret to maneuver through the defense. When Adam Pacholewski fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Newcastle United's protests and gave Adam Pacholewski a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Belgium booed when Newcastle United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adam Pacholewski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edward Vanderstraeten in the 95thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Mikolaj Jerzyk, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Belgium played a much better game than Newcastle United and deserved their victory. The Newcastle United players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
