Tommy Kahn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tom Beaune in the 21st minute of the match. Eraldo Fantini could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Tommy Kahn made a huge save. Eraldo Fantini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Tommy Kahn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eraldo Fantini in the 30thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Tommy Kahn, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Tommy Kahn stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eraldo Fantini's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. If Albin Holweck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Albin Holweck kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Germany defense, Eraldo Fantini kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tommy Kahn. The Germany fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tommy Kahn should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Janik Vogt during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Janik Vogt hit a great ball. In the 47th minute of the match, Eraldo Fantini tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Tommy Kahn saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Albin Holweck stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Adrian Dreifuss. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aloísio Lendaa, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. The supporters of Lyon 69ers booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank Sachs didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tommy Kahn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aloísio Lendaa in the 57th minute of the match. Lyon 69ers's Rodolphe Berthon got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tom Beaune took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tommy Kahn. Tommy Kahn dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. The throw-in from Rodolphe Sol in the 66th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Germany's Adrian Dreifuss. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aloísio Lendaa in the 70th minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Germany's Tommy Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tom Beaune in the 72nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Francis Graffin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tommy Kahn was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Janik Vogt hit a great ball. In the 91stth minute of the game Eraldo Fantini who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Germany's Tommy Kahn was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rodolphe Sol during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Lyon 69ers's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
