Edward Ahlbom was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 4 minutes into the match. After 4 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Söderströms IF! When the match had been going on for 6 minutes, TEAM HONDURAS ROATAN's Marvin Palencia got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Hugo Törnqvist. The audience was convinced that Sverker Vallengren's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ronald Castaneda was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. In the 11th minute Edgar Moreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Törnqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Rolf Rudkvist managed to get in a good position for a shot. Söderströms IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Rolf Rudkvist was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ronald Castaneda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 14th minute, Marvin Palencia reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Hugo Törnqvist. The goal made the score 2-0. Ronald Castaneda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rolf Rudkvist in the 19th minute of the match. In the 31st match minute, TEAM HONDURAS ROATAN was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Félix Reyes to maneuver through the defense. Hugo Törnqvist didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Félix Reyes went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Hugo Törnqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgar Moreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Marvin Palencia scored 4-1 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hugo Törnqvist, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-1.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sverker Vallengren to make the kick off. Hugo Törnqvist didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Félix Reyes went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-1 was the resulting score. The supporters of TEAM HONDURAS ROATAN booed when Söderströms IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Torsten Bengtsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marvin Palencia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Torsten Bengtsson fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Söderströms IF's protests and gave Torsten Bengtsson a yellow card for diving instead. In the 61st match minute, Söderströms IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Torsten Bengtsson to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Söderströms IF's zone, Marvin Palencia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hugo Törnqvist came out of the goal and Marvin Palencia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sverker Vallengren's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ronald Castaneda firmly grabbed it by the left post. Henry Soned made a great header on Söderströms IF's corner, it was just that TEAM HONDURAS ROATAN's Ronald Castaneda managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 67th match minute, Söderströms IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Torsten Bengtsson to maneuver through the defense. Marvin Palencia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hugo Törnqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgar Moreira in the 79th minute of play. Rolf Rudkvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Ronald Castaneda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 81st minute Edgar Moreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Törnqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Söderströms IF's Henry Soned got a free kick in the 82nd minute. After 83 played minutes, TEAM HONDURAS ROATAN's Marvin Palencia shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Hugo Törnqvist came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in TEAM HONDURAS ROATAN reached it. A collision led to TEAM HONDURAS ROATAN getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Jose Figueroa hit a great ball. A hard shot by Henry Soned from long distance, 87 minutes into the match, got Ronald Castaneda's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 90th minute, Sverker Vallengren got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marvin Palencia kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Marvin Palencia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Hugo Törnqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Söderströms IF players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for TEAM HONDURAS ROATAN.
