Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Netherlands from getting a goal against them. Arnout Reekers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Olivier Gilg in the 18th minute. In the 20th minute of the match DIPLOMATA FC PAB got a corner. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
