Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Hertha 1969's Wilhelm Nienhaus started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 8th minute Hertha 1969 were awarded a corner. Zé Paulo da Silva went to the cornerflag to take it. Flavio Vittori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gigel Elenescu in the 17th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilhelm Nienhaus in the 19th minute of play forced Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Flavio Vittori didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Wilhelm Nienhaus went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. In the 24th minute Wilhelm Nienhaus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Vittori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Hertha 1969 defense, Zaccheo Andolina kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rune Jarstein. The Hertha 1969 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rune Jarstein should have stopped the shot. Flavio Vittori was a little too slow when Kristian Oswald got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 34th minute. The score was now 3-1. In the 37th minute Siricio Liotta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rune Jarstein saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, Gigel Elenescu took a quick shot and it went in 4-1 without a chance for Flavio Vittori to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of Italy booed when Hertha 1969 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lüder Roppel didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 46th minute of the match Zé Paulo da Silva shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Flavio Vittori showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

A throw-in in the 62nd minute of the game was made by Lüder Roppel with Emilio Melzer as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Sigfrido Auletta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 75th minute Gunter Waller shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Vittori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 77th minute Gigel Elenescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Vittori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The throw-in from Lüder Roppel in the 78th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Italy's Siricio Liotta. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gunter Waller in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Flavio Vittori prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Italy's Adriano Curto got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Porziano Marchitelli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rune Jarstein having to interfere. Flavio Vittori took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kristian Oswald, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hertha 1969's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
