Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Adam Olaru started the match with the kick off. Rune Jarstein showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Costica Vladimiri, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Rune Jarstein showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Costica Vladimiri in the 8th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the match, Romania's goalkeeper Carol Stinga had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wilhelm Nienhaus. Carol Stinga made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Wilhelm Nienhaus sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adam Olaru in the 17th minute of play forced Hertha 1969's goalkeeper Rune Jarstein to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17th minute Costica Vladimiri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rune Jarstein saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rune Jarstein showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adam Olaru in the 20th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Costica Vladimiri in the 23rd minute of play forced Hertha 1969's goalkeeper Rune Jarstein to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Adam Olaru came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Romania fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adam Olaru couldn't finish the play. Romania's Costica Vladimiri got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 35 played minutes Hertha 1969 got a freekick which was hit by Wilhelm Nienhaus. Rune Jarstein made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adam Olaru in the 38th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wilhelm Nienhaus to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Gigel Elenescu made a precise shot to the right of Carol Stinga. Romania's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Rune Jarstein made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vasile Ciumak in the 54th minute of play. With his leg Rune Jarstein managed to avoid a goal in the 58thth minute, when Romania's Sanda Cutov fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Sanda Cutov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hertha 1969 made a substitution. Benedikt Bensch replaced Jörg Hannemann. Romania's Octavian Vaduva was substituted for Costica Vladimiri. Vasile Ciumak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Rune Jarstein tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carol Stinga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emilio Melzer in the 69th minute of the match. In the 71st minute, Romania's Sanda Cutov ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rune Jarstein. Rune Jarstein yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. In the 74th minute Kristian Oswald shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carol Stinga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Romania's attentive Rasvan Cristescu managed to snatch the ball when Benedikt Bensch made a throw-in in the 76th minute of the game. Romania's Sanda Cutov got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Vasile Ciumak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Romania's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
