Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Denmark's Chris Nygaard started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jan Turek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chris Nygaard in the 5th minute of play. Bertram Svenningsen took the ball and in the 6 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jan Turek. Jan Turek dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chris Nygaard in the 9th minute of play forced GKS OLIMPIA GRUDZIĄDZ's goalkeeper Jan Turek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Mathias Ludvigsen fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Denmark's protests and gave Mathias Ludvigsen a yellow card for diving instead. In the 13th match minute, Denmark was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mathias Ludvigsen to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in GKS OLIMPIA GRUDZIĄDZ's zone, Chris Nygaard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jan Turek came out of the goal and Chris Nygaard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Milosz Sroki made in the 22nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Denmark's Olav Graversen. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chris Nygaard in the 23rd minute of play forced GKS OLIMPIA GRUDZIĄDZ's goalkeeper Jan Turek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Chris Nygaard's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jan Turek was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. 30 minutes into the match, GKS OLIMPIA GRUDZIĄDZ's goal looked a bit too open when Chris Nygaard came free, but Jan Turek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jan Turek stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Chris Nygaard's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. After a rather tough play, GKS OLIMPIA GRUDZIĄDZ's Leszek Tusk got a free kick in the 34th minute. Bertram Svenningsen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Jan Turek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jan Turek took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chris Nygaard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Denmark's Mikkel Wulff got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Chris Nygaard might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jan Turek. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Chris Nygaard ran back to his position shaking his head. After the first half Denmark were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Jan Turek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mikkel Wulff in the 52nd minute of play. When Leszek Tusk fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GKS OLIMPIA GRUDZIĄDZ's protests and gave Leszek Tusk a yellow card for diving instead. In the 53rd minute, Leszek Tusk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Chris Nygaard who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 59thth minute tested the skills of Jan Turek when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 62 minutes into the match, GKS OLIMPIA GRUDZIĄDZ's goalkeeper Jan Turek had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bertram Svenningsen. A collision led to GKS OLIMPIA GRUDZIĄDZ getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Bogdan Babicki hit a great ball. If Chris Nygaard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bjarne Kirkegaard got free with Jan Turek in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 73 minutes into the match, GKS OLIMPIA GRUDZIĄDZ's goalkeeper Jan Turek had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bertram Svenningsen. In the 75th minute, Bertram Svenningsen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Denmark fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. After 79 minutes, Milosz Sroki mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the GKS OLIMPIA GRUDZIĄDZ and the Denmark players grew even worse after the yellow card. Chris Nygaard blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jan Turek having to make a save. The supporters of GKS OLIMPIA GRUDZIĄDZ booed when Denmark was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olav Graversen didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Chris Nygaard in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jan Turek saved GKS OLIMPIA GRUDZIĄDZ from getting behind. In the 96th minute, Krzysztof Prus left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The GKS OLIMPIA GRUDZIĄDZ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3.
