The supporters of Club Deportivo Español booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gustaaf Groeneveldt didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 4 played minutes Vacid Nefer rounded Netherlands's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flavio Botello in the 8th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anthony Bonelli in the 9th minute of play. In the 12th minute Gustaaf Groeneveldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Turgut Talha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vacid Nefer in the 14th minute of the match. 16 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Vacid Nefer came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vacid Nefer in the 18th minute of play. In the 21st minute of the match Netherlands got a corner. Club Deportivo Español's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran over to the corner to take the kick. Turgut Talha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 22nd minute of play. After 23 minutes Club Deportivo Español's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Lars Meesters heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. When Wim Wilmes came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wim Wilmes couldn't finish the play. After having played for 29 minutes, Gustaaf Groeneveldt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gustaaf Groeneveldt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 36 minutes into the match, Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Turgut Talha narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tenho Sono kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match.

Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vacid Nefer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Turgut Talha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 70th minute of play. After 74 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by David Eikelkamp. Club Deportivo Español made a substitution. Matias Chayo replaced Anthony Bonelli. After 76 played minutes, Club Deportivo Español's Jose Sein shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Arnout Reekers came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Club Deportivo Español reached it. David Eikelkamp's late challenge caught a Club Deportivo Español's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. David Eikelkamp helped the player get up and apologised. David Eikelkamp kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matias Chayo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Club Deportivo Español's Turgut Talha got control of the ball when Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to sneak it across the goal line. Petrică Bărbulescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Arnout Reekers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Club Deportivo Español were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Netherlands for a fine match.
