The Academia Monte Gordo fans' excitement grew in the 64th match minute when Academia Monte Gordo's Fabrício Lustosa looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After some careless play in the Netherlands defense, Boruc Brysz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arnout Reekers. The Netherlands fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arnout Reekers should have stopped the shot. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adélio Infante in the 73rd minute of play. After 77 minutes of play, Academia Monte Gordo's Adélio Infante made it 5-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arnout Reekers was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Academia Monte Gordo's goalkeeper Mao Zhen Hong, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 89 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Adélio Infante came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 90th minute, Rodrigo Mafra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mao Zhen Hong made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 91st minute. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabrício Lustosa in the 93rd minute of play. In the 94th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Academia Monte Gordo's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
