The audience thought a goal was coming when Yağızalp Akdeniz got free with Arnout Reekers in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

Ulf Håning hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Vladimir Djerlø was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Netherlands players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
