Hungary's Fodor Daniel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Youri Borderie in the 10th minute of play. Christopher Barnier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antal Valentin in the 11th minute of play. U.S.Normande's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Antal Valentin ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Antal Valentin almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but U.S.Normande's Christopher Barnier did a great save. Fodor Daniel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aymerick Tourrette in the 22nd minute of the match. 24 minutes into the game, Fred Battini was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U.S.Normande's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hungary the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in U.S.Normande fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 23rd minute. Penalty! An unexpectedly hard shot by Major Barna in the 28th minute of play forced U.S.Normande's goalkeeper Christopher Barnier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th minute Hungary were awarded a corner. Antal Valentin went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 32nd minute, Major Barna got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind U.S.Normande's goalkeeper Christopher Barnier, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Bengt-Rune Mellberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. U.S.Normande's supporters rose to their feet, but Bengt-Rune Mellberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fodor Daniel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 45 minutes into the match, U.S.Normande's goal looked a bit too open when Antal Valentin came free, but Christopher Barnier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hungary's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bengt-Rune Mellberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Major Barna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fodor Daniel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bengt-Rune Mellberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 59 minutes into the game, U.S.Normande's Youri Borderie nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fodor Daniel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. 62 minutes into the match, U.S.Normande's goalkeeper Christopher Barnier had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Antal Valentin. Christopher Barnier came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Hungary's Takacs Tibor. But to his dismay, Takacs Tibor quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. 68 minutes into the match, U.S.Normande's Aurélien Mussard sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fodor Daniel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Antal Valentin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Christopher Barnier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Antal Valentin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Christopher Barnier made a huge save. If Takacs Tibor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, U.S.Normande's Aymerick Tourrette got a free kick in the 77th minute. Major Barna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Christopher Barnier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 86 minutes into the match, Hungary's goal looked a bit too open when Aurélien Mussard came free, but Fodor Daniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Takacs Tibor in the 92nd minute of play forced U.S.Normande's goalkeeper Christopher Barnier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The U.S.Normande players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
