Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Abílio Passos took the kick off in the first half of the match. Mehmet Ferit İsmet hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. 4 minutes into the match, SC Freiburg 09's goal looked a bit too open when Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free, but Renato Candal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 4th minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Netherlands fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Máximo Lameiras kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Netherlands's Lars Meesters got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wim Wilmes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Renato Candal having to interfere. Renato Candal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 15th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abílio Passos in the 28th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Renato Candal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filipe Miguéis in the 32nd minute of play. 37 minutes had been played when some careless play by SC Freiburg 09's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Netherlands's corner Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Renato Candal quite easily take care of the ball. 41 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Raul Leal. When Nuno Bragança fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Freiburg 09's protests and gave Nuno Bragança a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, SC Freiburg 09's Nuno Bragança got a free kick in the 47th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gijsbert ter Kruimer to make the kick off. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abílio Passos in the 53rd minute of play. A nice corner shot did that Gijsbert ter Kruimer got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Renato Candal quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With his leg Renato Candal managed to avoid a goal in the 76thth minute, when Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Gijsbert ter Kruimer might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Renato Candal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran back to his position shaking his head. Renato Candal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Renato Candal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 82nd minute. After having played for 83 minutes, Wim Wilmes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wim Wilmes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abílio Passos in the 85th minute of play. After 90 played minutes SC Freiburg 09 got a freekick which was hit by Filipe Miguéis. After 92 played minutes, SC Freiburg 09's Mehmet Ferit İsmet shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Arnout Reekers came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SC Freiburg 09 reached it. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filipe Miguéis, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. If Gustaaf Groeneveldt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
